We invite research contributions to the Search track at the 31st edition of the Web Conference series (formerly known as WWW), to be held online April 25-29, 2022, hosted by Lyon, France (/www2022/).

The Search Track welcomes submissions of original, high-quality research related to the retrieval of Web content. We encourage submissions that explore how people understand, engage and interact with Web content through search systems in the wide sense, including discovery, recommendations or question answering, and how search systems should be designed to efficiently and effectively support those interactions. Research on both theoretical and applied aspects of search-related tasks is encouraged.

Topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Query and document analysis, representation and understanding
  • Web search models and ranking
  • Evaluation methodologies and metrics
  • Web crawling and indexing
  • Assisted, interactive and conversational search
  • Ubiquitous search (e.g. wearable devices, sensors, IoT)
  • Personalized, context-aware and across-device search
  • Efficiency and scalability of search engines
  • Vertical and domain-specific search
